5Ritmov® je enostavna in hkrati globoka gibalno-plesna praksa za raziskovanje in osvobajanje telesa in duha. Je meditacija v gibanju, ki temelji na načelu, da usklajeno telesno gibanje vpliva na vitalno energijo, čustva, racionalni um in duhovne razsežnosti človeka, tako da se telo in psiha naravno uravnovešata in usklajujeta. Metodo je zasnovala Gabrielle Roth (ZDA), ki je v svojem dolgoletnem poklicnem delu z različnimi skupinami ljudi prepoznala pet značilnih načinov gibanja. Poimenovala jih je pet ritmov: tekoči ritem (Flowing), stakato (Staccato), kaos (Chaos), lirični ritem (Lyrical) in globoka tišina (Stillness). Na fizičnem nivoju metoda povečuje telesno gibljivost, uravnava metabolizem in odpravlja mišične zakrčenosti, ki so posledica stresnih dejavnikov, ter prispeva k stabilnemu zdravju. Na psihološki ravni omogoča ozaveščanje in kreativno izražanje čustev ter prepoznavanje vzorcev obnašanja. V duhovnem smislu pa praksa petih ritmov zmanjšuje temeljni razkol sodobne civilizacije - navidezno ločenost telesa in duha.
Osnovni napotki za ples so enostavni
Na ples prinesite: udobnav več-slojna oblačila, plastenko vode, brisačo ali manjšo odejo. Med plesom: ne žvečite, odložite oster nakit. Bodite čim bolj prisotni. Plešite bosi ali v mehkih copatih, da občutite stik stopal z zemljo. Ko stopite v plesni prostor: zadihajte. Oddahnite si. Sprostite telo. Dopustite mislim, da utihnejo. Pred začetkom vodenega plesa imate čas za umiritev, razgibavanje in ogrevanje telesa, za preusmeritev pozornosti z dnevnega dogajanja na svoj ples. Karkoli med plesom občutite, ne premlevajte v mislih, temveč raje izrazite v plesu. Ne ocenjujte se, ne trudite se, ritmi so že v vsakem od nas, samo razkrivamo jih, raziskujemo in poglabljamo. Priporočljivo je, da k plesu pristopimo vedno znova kot začetniki, z mirnim umom ter odzivnim in gibkim telesom. Vsak ples je drugačen, svojstven, nepričakovan, edinstven.
Kdo lahko pleše ritme? Plesna praksa 5Ritmov je namenjena vsakomur, ki si želi svobodnega gibanja in plesa, ustvarjalnega izražanja ter celovitega spoznavanja sebe, ne glede na plesne izkušnje, spol, starost, kondicijo, sposobnosti ali poklic. Plesalci prevzemamo polno odgovornost za svoj ples in za interakcije s soplesalci. Plešemo po svojih zmožnostih in navdihu, spoštujemo in vzpodbujamo raznolikost.
Postopno napredovanje v praksi
Pomembno je, da smo s seboj potrpežljivi in da se zavedamo postopnosti napredovanja. V svojem razvoju plesalec petih ritmov iz nezavednega plesa najprej prehaja v fazo samozavedanja, za katero je značilen močan osebnostni nadzor gibanja, vključno s kritičnostjo in primerjanjem. Ko uspe vsaj delno opustiti kontrolo uma, se pomika v vse bolj svobodne oblike plesa. Odpre se intuitivnemu plesu, ko se plesni gibi spontano rojevajo iz intuicije. 5Rhythms® is a simple and at the same time profound movement-dance practice for exploring and liberating the body and spirit. It is a meditation in movement, based on the principle that coordinated physical movement affects the vital energy, emotions, rational mind and spiritual dimensions of a person, so that the body and psyche naturally balance and harmonize. The method was developed by Gabrielle Roth (USA), who in her many years of professional work with different groups of people recognized five characteristic modes of movement. She called them 5Rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical rhythm and Stillness. On a physical level, the method increases physical mobility, regulates metabolism and eliminates muscle spasms that are a result of stress factors, and contributes to stable health. On a psychological level, it enables awareness and creative expression of emotions and recognition of behavior patterns. In a spiritual sense, the practice of the 5Rhythms reduces the fundamental division of modern civilization - the apparent separation of body and mind.
Basic instructions for dancing are simple
Bring to the dance: comfortable multi-layered clothes, a bottle of water, a towel or a small blanket. While dancing: do not chew, put away sharp jewelry. Be as present as possible. Dance barefoot or in soft slippers to feel the contact of your feet with the ground. When you step into the dance space: breathe. Take a break. Relax your body. Allow your thoughts to become silent. Before the start of the guided dance, you have time to calm down, stretch and warm up your body, to redirect your attention from the daily events to your dance. Whatever you feel while dancing, do not dwell on it in your mind, but rather express it in your dance. Do not judge, do not try, the rhythms are already within each of us, we are just revealing them, exploring and deepening them. It is recommended that we approach dance again and again as beginners, with a calm mind and a responsive and flexible body. Each dance is different, unique, unexpected, unique.
Who can dance rhythms? The dance practice of the 5Rhythms is intended for anyone who wants free movement and dance, creative expression and comprehensive knowledge of themselves, regardless of dance experience, gender, age, fitness, abilities or profession. Dancers take full responsibility for their dance and for interactions with fellow dancers. We dance according to our abilities and inspiration, respecting and encouraging diversity.
Gradual progress in practice
It is important to be patient with ourselves and to be aware of the gradual progress. In his development, the 5Rhythms dancer first moves from unconscious dance to a phase of self-awareness, which is characterized by strong personal control of movement, including criticism and comparison. When he manages to at least partially abandon the control of the mind, he moves into increasingly free forms of dance. He opens himself to intuitive dance, when dance movements are spontaneously born from intuition. At the next stage, in inspirational dance, the body and movement become the inspiration for new original creativity, which flows from dance practice into all life activities. Finally, the dancer experiences ecstatic dance, which is born from the complete connection and harmony of body and mind.
The practice of the 5Rhythms can be defined as expressive movement, meditation in movement, ecstatic dance, body-oriented practice with therapeutic effects or shamanic practice, as it contains and combines all of the above elements. The 5Rhythms method can only be taught by teachers with an international license. Teacher training takes place at The Moving Center® New York (5Rhythms Global).
